SWGA Starts New Season!

GOLFING SEASON HAS BEGUN!! And the SWGA had a beautiful day hosted at East Ridge Country Club. FIFTY LADIES participated in the scramble event and enjoyed a great day of socializing with old friends. Although it was Cart Paths Only, the course was in its usual beautiful condition and was a treat to play on, even after so much rain. Thanks to ERCC for taking care of us once again.

The Tradition

One of our own hometown clubs, The Golf Club at StoneBridge in Bossier City, is hosting a new 2-lady tournament on May 15-17.  Yay!  We don't have to travel for this one!  The first day is best ball and the second is scramble.  Get a partner and sign up!

New 2018 Golfing Season

The new SWGA and SSWGA golfing season is just around the corner.  We start off with an SWGA scramble at East Ridge, followed the next week with an SSWGA scramble at Stone Bridge, both with 9:00am shotgun starts. 


I hope you will take advantage of these fun events.  Remember, you must sign up ahead of time with your Club Rep in order for pairings to be made and if you MUST cancel, you MUST notify the Events Chairman of the appropriate association.  The SWGA Event Chairman is Jane Smith and the SSWGA Events Chairman is Kathleen McCoy.


As info, this blog has become very user-unfriendly for me to use for pictures, so there may be a shortage of them, especially if photos are not provided by the host clubs.  I will continue to post the playday results on this blog as well as on Facebook in the SWGA/SSWGA News Site group.  I will also try to send results via email so that those not on Facebook can see the results.

The SWGA held its annual Turkey Scramble on November 6, at Huntington Park Golf Club. The ladies were treated to nice weather, good turnout, and good course conditions.

SSWGA Scramble at Huntington Park

The SSWGA group hosted a scramble event at Huntington Park Golf Course on October 19th. Twenty ladies participated in the fun event that took place with perfect weather and really good greens conditions. These are the results:

The stroke play championship was held at Querbes Golf Course on August 23-24. The course and the weather couldn't have been better for the event.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

SSWGA Playday at Crooked Hollow

It was a heavy mist and absolutely NO roll, but twenty-one ladies braved the elements on August 10th for the SSWGA Playday at Crooked Hollow.  The day ended up sunny, but sweltering, kind of like the scores!

The low score of the day was 85 and was a tie between Cathy Buckley and Debbie Magee.  Good playing, ladies!  Overall low putts for the day was also a tie between Linda Colvin and Debbie Magee with a nice 29.  The greens were in great shape and rolled very true.
