SWGA Playday at Querbes

Unseasonably cool weather greeted the twenty-seven ladies who participated in the SWGA Playday at Querbes Park GC on June 7th. The course was in good condition, except for the clover, and the greens were unusually fast, but ran really true. The Beautification Committee has done a great job of "sprucing up" the course and the greens keeper has brought the greens a long way.


Thanks to everyone who came out and supported the SWGA group. And the course produced some nice low scores on Wednesday. The lowest gross score was an 80 by Shirley Pettitt, playing at her home course. She also had the lowest putts for the day with just 29, followed closely by Martha Lawhorne with 30. Good playing ladies!

SSWGA Playday at Querbes Park

May 31^st was the playday that was re-scheduled due to rain at Querbes Golf Club.  The Broadmoor ladies hosted the Shreveport Senior Women’s Golf Association at the newly “trimmed” course where the greens were in very good condition.  Can’t say the same for the amount of clover that was present, but we’re hoping that will soon be gone too.

 

The low score of the day was an 89 by Debbie Magee of Stonebridge.  Cheryl Smith, also of Stonebridge, figured out the greens speed real nicely with just 30 putts for the day.  Congratulations ladies!

SWGA Playday at Northwood

May 16^th and we still had beautiful, comfortable weather for our third SWGA event of the year, held at Northwood Hill Golf Club.  Course was in great shape and the hospitality was A+ as usual.  Great time for the forty-four ladies that turned out to make this a successful event.

 

The overall low gross score for the day was an 83 by Vicki Cella of Northwood.  Overall low putts was a sweet 27 by Gayle Gansfuss, also of Northwood.  Good job, ladies!

2017 SWGA Annual Meeting/Luncheon

SWGA 2016 President Joyce Middleton hosted our annual meeting and luncheon at her home club Eastridge Country Club on January 13, 2017. Fifty-three ladies turned out to welcome the 2017 Officers and Reps, thank the 2016 group, congratulate the End-of-Year award winners, and socialize with each other in a way that can't be done while on the golf course.

After an outstanding lunch, the 2016 officers gave their respective reports and we were surprised and elated to end our year with a tad bit more money than we started with. Events Chairman Martha Lawhorne then presented the End-of-Year awards as follows:
