
The Louisiana Golf Association is conducting a Rules of Golf Seminar at Southern Trace Country Club on April 1st, 6:30pm-8:30pm, with registration starting at 6:00pm. The seminar is offered to members of LGA member clubs for $10 and will include participants receiving a 2008-2009 USGA Rules of Golf booklet and other rules materials compliments of the LGA.
LGA Executive Director Carr McCalla will conduct the seminar. McCalla has served a four-year term on the prestigious USGA Rules of Golf Committee and has also served as a Rules Official at nine U.S. Open Championships, four Masters Tournaments, three U.S. Senior Open Championships, and numerous other USGA Championships.
The seminar will be approximately two hours in length and will include a Power-Point presentation on: 1) How to use the Rules Book, 2) Commonly used rules, and 3) Rules Myths. There will also be a Q & A session to conclude the seminar. Individuals who are members of non-LGA member clubs are welcome to attend but will be charged a seminar fee of $20.
Pre-registration for the seminar will be required; participants are asked to send in a registration form along with their fee at least one week prior to the seminar. Late registrations will be accepted if space permits. Registration forms may be downloaded from the LGA website at http://www.lgagolf.org/ or you can register online using a credit card.
