Cart Paths Only and 100 degree heat make for a grueling day of golf, but twenty-eight ladies started the adventure and twenty-five finished the SWGA playday on June 27. Huntington was in great shape considering they had tons of rain and severe winds the night before. There were tree limbs and debris scattered all through the water-soaked course. If it was your first time to play there since it was re-done a few years back, you need to come back when it’s dry. It will be a whole new experience.
The low gross score of the day was an amazing 85 by Joyce Middleton (ERLGA), followed by three scores of 91. Low net of the day was a 73 by Mary Moore (NLGA), followed by a 74 and four 75’s. Low putts on the really smooth (but slow because of the rain) greens was 31 by Mary Moore and Hui Bordelon, followed by a 32 and three 33’s. Good golfing, ladies!
And we were just as successful with our Woody’s donations one this day. Besides the great group of “goodies” and watermelons that were delivered prior to playday, there was $140 in cash donations. The Woody’s group were elated when presented with our great donations. In case you don’t realize it, WE ARE MAKING A DIFFERENCE in the lives of these veterans! Thank you for all your support!
Our next SWGA playday is at Southern Trace on July 10 and is also serving as the practice round for the Championship on July 24 and 25. Even if you are not playing in the Championship, July 10 is a regular playday and you should contact your Club Rep asap to let her know if you are playing. Also included in this post is an entry form for the Championship.
