About Us....

The Shreveport Womens Golf Association was formed in 1933 for the purpose of promoting good fellowship and friendly competition among local amateur women golfers. Ladies in this association (SWGA) must have a handicap index of 30.0 or less.

Our sister group, the Shreveport Senior Womens Golf Association, was created for the same purpose, but includes only ladies who have reached at least their fiftieth birthday.
Ladies can be members of either or both organizations as long as they meet the eligibility requirements and pay the appropriate membership dues to each group. This membership entitles ladies to play at least once (in each association) at each of the six golf/country clubs that are participants in the SWGA and SSWGA groups: Bomber Bayou Golf Club, East Ridge Country Club, Huntington Park/Querbes Golf Clubs, Northwood Hills Golf Club, Golf Club at Stonebride, and Southern Trace Country Club.

SWGA/SSWGA Jingle Bell

It was the final event of the season for both the SWGA and SSWGA ladies....a bitter sweet experience I think.  Bitter, because it was the LAST one and sweet, because it was a lovely day....if you forget about the cart paths only and lots of mud and wind!  With all that said, 25 of the 41 ladies that had originally signed up actually showed up, and we appreciate your efforts. 

And speaking of appreciation, we surely appreciate Palmetto Country Club for hosting us at the last minute and being so patient with all the re-pairings.

The crazy hat winner was Gayle Gansfuss with her very "stylish" green hat.  The scramble winner results are in the right column, but here are a few photos to enjoy:
