If you've ever wanted to play in a State Tournament, this is the one to try first! Not only is match play the most pressure-less format to play, but this year it's at a truly fabulous course: TPC Louisiana. For those of you that are thinking "I don't want to go to New Orleans....", well, it's not in New Orleans. It's close, but on the western side... in Avondale.
If you don't like the hustle and bustle of New Orleans, you never have to go there. Dates are June 26-29, with some variations depending on whether you're qualifying for the Championship Flight and if you win your first two matches.
Go to
www.tpc.com/louisiana and take a look at the course. For $150, you will get two rounds of golf; a night of food, fun, bowling, music and drinks at Mid-City Rock 'n' Bowl; a very nice tee gift; and winner prizes. Take a look at the Rock 'n' Bowl website and you'll see what to expect: lots of dancing, singing, good music and great food, with a little bowling thrown in for competitive fun.
If you lose both of your matches on Monday and Tuesday, then you're done and can go home. If you win either of the first two matches, you go on to play the third day, for which there is an additional $25 fee.
The practice round which you will surely want to play is an additional $50 and tee times can be made now for the Sunday practice round.
