Forty ladies competed on this Day 2 in once-again beautiful weather to vie for the Cup which was won last year by the West Team. It couldn’t get much more exciting than it did today….much like the recent President’s Cup.
With eight of the ten matches finished, the next match came in with a tie….bringing the total to 9 ½ to 9 ½. Only one match was still out and it was obvious that whichever team won
THAT match would determine who won THE Matches. Who would have thought!
The tenth team in was ALSO a TIE!
The final score: 10 – 10.
EVERYONE WAS A WINNER!
This hasn’t happened before in the history of the Barabara
Fay White Cup and isn’t likely to happen again anytime soon. But how exciting! And speaking of exciting, we must mention Jill Litton’s (NHGC) eagle out of a bunker as well as Cathy Buckley’s (BWGA) eagle on one of the par five’s where she miraculously hit into the group ahead by hitting a whopper second shot onto the green….ending in an eagle.
Once again, Stonebridge hospitality was great and everyone enjoyed themselves tremendously. About fifty ladies participated over the two days, giving everyone who wanted to play an opportunity to do so. Congratulations to Team Matches Chairman Suzanne Tinsley and her committee for a successful event. We are already looking forward to next year’s matches!
