About Us....

The Shreveport Womens Golf Association was formed in 1933 for the purpose of promoting good fellowship and friendly competition among local amateur women golfers. Ladies in this association (SWGA) must have a handicap index of 30.0 or less.

Our sister group, the Shreveport Senior Womens Golf Association, was created for the same purpose, but includes only ladies who have reached at least their fiftieth birthday.
Ladies can be members of either or both organizations as long as they meet the eligibility requirements and pay the appropriate membership dues to each group. This membership entitles ladies to play at least once (in each association) at each of the six golf/country clubs that are participants in the SWGA and SSWGA groups: Bomber Bayou Golf Club, East Ridge Country Club, Huntington Park/Querbes Golf Clubs, Northwood Hills Golf Club, Golf Club at Stonebride, and Southern Trace Country Club.

Fun-tini Tournament

Jeanie Ward and Gayle Gansfuss were the only local girls to make the trip down to Alexandria to play in the Fun-Fini Tournament on September 11, but they say it was well worth the trip. 
This 6/6/6 (best ball/scramble/alternate shot) format was loads of fun and the pool party that followed the golf was no slouch either.  They highly recommend the tournament so be on the lookout for it next year.
