About Us....

The Shreveport Womens Golf Association was formed in 1933 for the purpose of promoting good fellowship and friendly competition among local amateur women golfers. Ladies in this association (SWGA) must have a handicap index of 30.0 or less.

Our sister group, the Shreveport Senior Womens Golf Association, was created for the same purpose, but includes only ladies who have reached at least their fiftieth birthday.
Ladies can be members of either or both organizations as long as they meet the eligibility requirements and pay the appropriate membership dues to each group. This membership entitles ladies to play at least once (in each association) at each of the six golf/country clubs that are participants in the SWGA and SSWGA groups: Bomber Bayou Golf Club, East Ridge Country Club, Huntington Park/Querbes Golf Clubs, Northwood Hills Golf Club, Golf Club at Stonebride, and Southern Trace Country Club.

SWGA Fox Run Playday

Hoorah!  We finally got a 2010 playday!  Although the wind was a bit "testy", the biggest challenge was the greens.  I know we all complained about it, but think of this:  for the last SIX months, we've had horrible rain and more cold weather than we've had in years.  And during that time, they were trying to "heal" from the tornado that closed the course earlier in the year.  So don't be too critical.

With that said, we had a GREAT turnout: 52 players.  Thank you all for sticking with it and completing the round.  I personally don't like "tee time events" because every player doesn't get to interact socially with all the other players, but since this was my first event as Events Chairman, it was better for me to get a feel of it all.  As a reminder to all players, you need to sign-in with the Events person at every event.  Simply paying the pro shop doesn't constitute "signing in".  There were several who didn't sign in, but luckily, I had seen them in the pro shop.

I apologize for not having a slideshow presentation for this event.  I didn't get a chance to take many pictures yesterday as I was pretty tied to the sign-in table.  I've included a few below.  Check out the right column for the winner results.
